AMAUTA is located in Belgrano, one of the lovely residential neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. It sits next to the trendy Palermo in a beautiful independent house with offices, six multi-media classrooms, an internet cafe, a kitchen, a study/leisure space, and balconies with a view over the leafy Avenue, and a small green garden. Walk outside of the school and find yourself surrounded by quaint shops, cafeterias, cinemas, restaurants and pubs. There are endless options of what one can do during any given day and they are all situated within walking distance of the school. Three blocks away is the famous Plaza "Barrancas de Belgrano" where students can go and sit to enjoy the day or put in some studying time. Only twenty minutes away from the school is the happening downtown life for those students who want to partake in the fastpace life of this attractive city.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF BELGRANO
Belgrano is an upper-middle class neighborhood located near the modern and trendy Palermo. The heart of this neighborhood pulses with life on its main thoroughfare, Avenida Cabildo, which carries automobile traffic, and features corner cafés, grocery stores, movie theaters, specialty shops, clothing boutiques, bookstores, and other retail venues.
Most of the homes located in this neighborhood are located in the vicinity of Cabildo. You can find both high-rise luxury apartment buildings along with calm streets lined with large, mature shade trees. There are detached single-family homes that follow Anglo-Saxon architectural styles giving this neighborhood a feeling of being at home. Belgrano also has its own small Chinatown with restaurants and specialty grocery stores so there are always an array of choices when it comes time for eating. The famous lush park called "Barrancas de Belgrano" was designed by the famous French-Argentine landscape/park architect Carlos Thays who designed many open spaces throughout Buenos Aires. On Manuel Belgrano square, a local artisan fair is held regularly and becomes especially vibrant on weekends.
The beauty of this city is only enhanced by the possibilities of weekend excursions that are all accessible by public transportation. El Tigre, Mataderos and Tomas Jofre, are only some examples of beautiful towns located outside of the center part of the city that allow you to escape the hustle and bustle when needed. If shopping is your thing, the unique characteristics of each neighborhood will allow you to pick and choose to your hearts content. With the beautiful mountains of Patagonia and the famous Waterfalls of Iguazu only a busride away, this city is the central hub to take you away to explore just more than the active city life. There are no limits when it comes to seeing how this city and its surroundings will romance you with its shopping, food, nature, art, and getaway adventures.
